Baseball: Early-bird registration is ongoing for Redondo Beach Little League. Open to residents of the City of Redondo Beach between the ages of 4 and 14, the league consists of eight divisions and will begin play on March 2, 2013. Running: The Manhattan Beach Yuletide 5K Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 5:30 p.m. The event starts and finishes under the Christmas lights on the Manhattan Beach Pier with glow necklaces and t-shirts guaranteed to all pre-registered runners and late registrants while supplies last. The Party Meets the Pavement at the 4th Annual Allstate Life Insurance Los Angeles 13.1 Half Marathon and 5K on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013. The half marathon begins on the Venice Boardwalk and ends in Playa Del Rey. Live entertainment, food and refreshments including the Michelob Ultra beer garden will highlight the festivities. Runners will also be able to donate the shoes off their feet through a special partnership with Allstate and Give Your Sole, which provides worn athletic shoes for those in need.
