The Kern County Republican Party elected new members for its executive board this week.
Dean Haddock, a psychologist and Bakersfield Planning Commission member, moved from vice chair to chair of the organization. He'll replace retired businesswoman Bonnie Shea in that spot.
"It is a privilege and honor to have been elected as chairman of the Kern County Republican Party," Haddock said in a press release. "I look forward to working with the members, especially the newer younger members who have chosen to step up to the plate and volunteer their time and talents to the party."
Bakersfield City Councilman Ken Weir will be vice chair, moving up from his spot as treasurer. Bryan Williams, former chair of the Kern County Young Republicans, was named treasurer. Member Joel Ratzlaff was re-elected as the organization's secretary.
The Kern County Republican Party holds meetings the second Monday of each month. It campaigns for and supports Republican candidates for elected office. To get more information, contact Karen Elizes at 327-9321 or kelizes@libertystar.net.
